How could I forget about this? Sara and I decided to get on Facebook for a little bit since the boys were playing so well together. We were just checking out people from high school and talking about what people are up to these days. It was so great that the boys were being so good and entertaining themselves. Or so we thought! I walked out into the hallway to see Booker standing with his pants at his ankles. I asked him what he was doing and he said he just had to go poop. We walked into the bathroom to find poop EVERYWHERE. In the toilet, on the toilet, on the rug, on his hands. All at the same time, we found that Bodey and Ethan had been playing in toilet water (pre-Booker's poop) and undecorating the Christmas tree. The tree cracked me up. It was completely naked 2/3rds of the way up. And this is what we found in Ethan's bedroom:

All within the matter of 15 minutes! But, how could we get mad? It just reminded us of something we would have done together when we were little.

Weekend in Omaha

Last weekend, the boys and I drove up to Omaha to see one of my dearest friends, Sara. Sara and I have been friends since 1st grade. She has always been the one person that I can laugh so hard I pee my pants when I'm around her (literally). It's kind of crazy that she ended up in Omaha, only 3 short hours away from me, when we are both from Wyoming. However, she just found out she is moving to Idaho, and I just knew I had to get up to see her one last time... since it could be YEARS before we see each other again. When we arrived she made us some sandwiches and then we made the mutual agreement to let the boys skip their naps and play in the snow. Omaha got dumped on that week and had over a foot of snow for us to play in.

Bodey didn't like it so much since it was so deep he couldn't move.

There is a story behind this picture. Dusty makes fun of my snowboots. They are from middle school and purple in color. But, they are a really good pair of Sorel boots and I only wear them a couple of times a year, so I refuse to buy new ones, despite their appearance. When I pulled them out of my bag, Sara kind of chuckled and asked if those were my boots from middle school. I proudly said yes... and then she pulled out hers. Bright pink Sorel snowboots from middle school. So, we had to get a picture that would show them off. Getting the perfect picture was one of those "pee in the pants" kind of moments... although neither of us did! The thing I love about this picture is Bodey just standing in place (because he never moved), Ethan trying to climb to his mommy, who kept trying to "place" him out of the way, and Booker, whose head you can't see because he liked to bury it in the snow.

Once Bodey finally figured out that you can eat the snow (fancy that), he was good to go.

Booker was a total and complete snow maniac. I was pretty suprised since he seems to be the complainer of the family. He LOVED the snow and could have played in it for hours if I would have let him.

Here are the boys enjoying a nice little snow snack.

After playing in the snow, we made pizza. And I mean we MADE pizza... like homemade dough and everything. :) The boys were a great help, as you can see!

Time to clean up and go to bed.

Thank you, Sara, for letting us come visit on such short notice and in the middle of you trying to pack up your house. As usual, we have created some awesome memories.

Every day Dusty and I get to watch, enjoy and laugh at Bodey being Booker's clone. Everything Booker does, Bodey does. Everything Booker says, Bodey says. Booker acts like a super hero, Bodey acts like a super hero. Booker runs in circles, Bodey runs in circles. It's so cute. And thankfully, right now, Booker isn't at the age where he complains that "Bodey's copying me!" Oh, I remember my poor sister having that complaint! :) It is just such an awesome feeling to know that without a doubt Booker is Bodey's best friend and mentor. He adores his big brother.

We also call Bodey "repeat." I say, "Bodey, let's go brush your hair and teeth." Bodey, "Hair and teeth?" "Bodey, we need to get your coat on." "Coat on?" "Bodey, it's time to take your medicine." "Take my medicine?" He always repeats the main points of every sentence. Love it!

Gobbler Grind 1/2 Marathon

Today I accomplished something that 1 year ago never even crossed my mind as something I would ever do in my lifetime. I ran a half marathon! Whoa, I still can't believe I did it, but I am so proud of myself. I felt really good almost the entire way too. Miles 6-8 were the hardest for me, but by mile 10 I was ready to kick it in gear and finish it up. I ended up finishing in 2 hours and 15 minutes which I couldn't be happier with. My goal was 2 hours and 20 minutes. I'm definitely feeling it right now though, and I'm sure I'll hurt tomorrow too. I would like to thank all my friends and family for being so supportive through all the nights of training I've been doing the last 3 months. I couldn't have done it without any of you. You know what the best feeling about this was? Seeing my husband, my boys and my best friends at the finish line. I honestly couldn't have asked for anything more. I am so blessed.

When I realized my dearest friend, Cori, came down to watch me finish I started crying. It truly meant the world to me.

Starting to tighten up... OUCH!

These boys are the reason I did this!

Won't Be Long...

And my 3 year old will be smarter than me.

When we drive home from school we always have "learning" conversations, not because I make him, but I guess Booker's mind is still in "learning" mode. Anyways, after going through every object he could see and telling me what letter it starts with, our conversation went like this:

Me: "Booker, do you know what one plus one is?" I honestly just asked, thinking I could teach him something new.

Booker: "One plus one equals two."

Me: "What does 1 + 2 equal?"

Booker: "1 + 2 equals 3."

He knew 1+1, 1+2, 1+3, 2+2, and 2+3!!! I couldn't even believe it! I just adore Tots N Tales, they are constantly teaching my boys things I didn't know until Kindergarten or 1st grade!

Besides Looking Cute

What has Bodey been up to lately? Well, learning his ABCs and how to count! Not bad, if I do say so myself.

Love to Hear What He Has to Say

Booker is always saying something that makes me laugh. Here are three that I can think of from tonight.

"If you break your knee you need an x-ray."

"Mom, when I get older and bigger like you, I'm going to run with you." I loved hearing that!

And some background for this one... we live across from the highschool and Friday nights are the football games. When we get a touchdown, they let off fireworks. Booker was in bed when we the fireworks went off and both Dusty and I both heard a voice from his bedroom yell, "Touchdown!"

I love this age. You just never know what he's going to say next!

Quote of the Day

"Mom, I just don't feel good."

"Why, honey, what's wrong?"

"These hiccups are killin' me!" - Booker, Age 3

Happy 3rd Birthday Bodey!

Ok, so Bodey's still only 2, but yesterday was a very emotional day for me. I have been dreading getting Bodey's hair cut for one main reason. I knew it would take any and all baby he had left in him away from me. I knew that he would all of a sudden become a big boy once he got his hair cut. And, I was right. I think he looks a whole year older now. Don't get me wrong, I love his new doo, but it's also so sad to realize how grown up he's getting. But, every time I look at this picture I just smile from ear to ear. Love that little man!

Ode to the Smothered Super Dan

For those of you who have never been to Worland, Wyoming, I am so sorry. Most of the town sucks, but there is one reason to keep going back. My dear friends, you have never had the most divine breakfast ever until you have experienced the Smothered Super Dan breakfast burrito. My lips are watering just writing about it. It is filled with bacon, refried beans, hashbrowns and eggs (for those who like those nasty slimy things). I prefer to get mine egg-free. Then it is smothered in pork chili and topped with cheese. Now, don't be a hater. It's not chili like you put on a hotdog or serve on football Sunday. No, this is pork chili, and it is more like a sauce. My favorite thing about it is that you never know what you're going to get. Some mornings you can barely taste the heat, and other mornings you get a mixture of the hottest peppers ever and can barely tolerate it. But the flavor is out of this world. We even get a side of hashbrowns smothered in pork chili. If I could I would have dozens of these things mailed down here so that I didn't relapse. Only having them once a year - at the most - is very hard on me.

Family Vacation

We had a wonderful vacation up to Wyoming last week. I drove the boys up by myself and met Dusty there. I had no idea what my future held, but they boys did great. I honestly cannot complain at all. They were in their carseats pretty much for 3 days straight on the ride up and watched TV almost the entire time. I don't know if that is something I'm supposed to be excited about, but I am. We were lucky enough to see so many friends and family while there.

Entering the most beautiful state ever.

Can't miss Wall Drug.

2nd Cousins - Carter, Booker, Sidney, Bodey

Booker & Bodey's cousin, Maranda

On top of the world.

Ten Sleep Creek
Bodey, mad after he fell in the freezing pond. I love his trail!

Having a picnic outside great-grandpa and grandma's house in the mountains.

View of the canyon from our 4-wheeler ride.

You can honestly see for 100s of miles.

Bodester next to the rock wall.

Handsome lil fella!

I guess Popeye came along with us.

Booker driving the 4-wheeler.

Devil's Tower
Bear Country USA

Mount Rushmore

Reptile Gardens

Bodey LOVED the tortoises.

Booker going down the dino slide at Star Plunge in Thermopolis at the Hot Springs pools.

What kids should be doing on long road trips...

What happens when you pump them full of sugar to keep them happy. :)
I absolutely loved having an entire week off with my family. It was soooo nice to wake up and plan a day out that didn't involve daycare and work. Thank you God for letting us have such a great time together.
